Senior BJP leader and MP Shatrughan Sinha is likely to call on Patel quota stir leader Hardik Patel.

Hardik has been on an indefinite fast seeking debt waiver for farmers and quotas for his community in government jobs and educational institutions for 10 days.

Sources within the Patel camp said that Shatrughan, who has been at the loggerheads with current top BJP leadership in the country and expressed his divergent views against the leadership on many issues, is likely to be either accompanied or followed by former finance minister Yashwant Sinha at the venue of Hardik’s fast.

He has already got support from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the NCP.

Hardik has seen to be getting traction from non-NDA political parties for his fast, even as the ruling party in the state and at the Centre is keeping completely quiet on the issue.

There have been no efforts from the ruling establishment to make any contact for talks with Hardik.

In fact, Hardik has been fasting at his residence, with police imposing Section 144 in the city and turning his residential premise into a fortress.

On Monday, leader of Opposition in the state Paresh Dhanani called on Hardik to inquire about his health and extend his party’s support.

Several state-level Congressmen have been visiting Hardik since day one of his fast to show their support.

Meanwhile, Hardik’s health is said to be deteriorating fast and a special ICU ambulance has been stationed outside his residence.
