In a move that could hold massive significance for transparency, the Supreme Court is planning to live stream all its hearings.
According to a report by Bar & Bench, the apex court has already taken steps in this regard and an app to live stream proceedings from all SC benches is already under testing.
While proceedings under the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court have been live streamed since 2022, the new move, when implemented, would mark the first instance of live-streaming day-to-day hearings.
Cybersecurity, however, will have to be maintained: around a month ago, the SC's YouTube channel was hacked and showed videos promoting a cryptocurrency developed by US-based company Ripple Labs.
