Thoothukudi (Tamil Nadu): A worker died, and two others were injured in an ammonia gas leak at a factory here on Friday evening, said police.

The worker, identified as A Hariharan (24) was attending to a faulty pipeline at a chemical and fertiliser factory in Muthiahpuram here, when the ammonia gushed out all of a sudden from the pipeline.

He died instantly while two other workers: S Dhanraj of Thoothukudi, and C Marimuthu of Tiruppur, who inhaled the colourless gas, have been admitted to a government hospital and were undergoing treatment, said police.
