ED teams searched at least seven locations associated with both the brothers. The BRS MLA is facing charges under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for allegedly receiving the proceeds of illegal granite mining.

Madhusudhan Reddy had been arrested earlier by local police on charges of illegal mining activities by the firms linked to him.

His firms were accused of violations of environmental norms and unauthorised excavation beyond the permitted limits.

Telangana's mining authorities recently stopped the quarry operations of his firms.

Following a complaint by the tehsildar, police had registered a case against Madhusudhan Reddy, following which he was arrested. The ED has taken up a probe into the two brothers' activities to expose possible irregularities under the PMLA.

Sangareddy Collector Valluru Kranthi has already initiated an RDO-led inquiry into the illegal mining.
