"There is no cause of concern," Ratan Tata had told his followers on X in what turned out to be his last social media post ahead of his demise on October 10, at the age of 86.

In a post on October 7, the business tycoon had thanked his well wishers for thinking of him as he informed them that he had been undergoing medical checkups due to age-related medical conditions.

"There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits and request that public and media respect refrain from spreading misinformation(sic)," Tata wrote in his post.

The post, that has received 2.8 million views since, along with multiple well wishes, now has a thread of RIP comments on it.

"You Will Be Remembered Forever Sir , Om Shanti 🙏🏻," wrote one user while another wrote: "A man with zero haters is no more."

Tata, who was chairman of the salt to software group for more than two decades, breathed his last at south Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at 11:30 pm on Wednesday.

A Padma Vibhushan recipient, Tata, had been in intensive care at the hospital since Monday.

After the news of his demise, tributes have been pouring in from leaders, actors, sportspersons and businessmen.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also posted a pictures of himself with Ratan Tata in remembrance, writing "One of the most unique aspects of Shri Ratan Tata Ji was his passion towards dreaming big and giving back. He was at the forefront of championing causes like education, healthcare, sanitation, animal welfare to name a few."

In another post, he mentioned, "My mind is filled with countless interactions with Shri Ratan Tata Ji. I would meet him frequently in Gujarat when I was the CM."

In an official Rashtrapati Bhavan tweet, President Droupadi Murmu said that Tata, the recipient of the Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan, had "blended corporate growth with nation building, and excellence with ethics." She further hailed his leadership that "took forward the great Tata legacy and gave it a more impressive global presence."

Meanwhile, industry leaders including Google’s India-born chief executive Sundar Pichai also mourned the death of Tata, saying the veteran industrialist cared about making India better.

Tata's mortal remains will be kept at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in south Mumbai from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday for people to pay their respects. His last rites will be performed in Worli area of Mumbai later in the day.
