According to reports, Tunisha (20) and Sheezan (27) were in a relationship for some time but about a fortnight ago, they had broken up.

The post-mortem was conducted at the government-run Sir JJ Hospital at Byculla in Mumbai after which it was handed over to the family.

The autopsy has reasoned the case of death as asphyxia or suffocation and that she was not pregnant.

The last rites are expected to be carried out on Monday.

The family of Tunisha is based in Mira Road in Thane district.

The police have registered a case of abetment to suicide under Section 306 (abetment to suicide_ of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Sheezan.

Tunisha (20) and Sheezan were co-actors in the show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul.

Sharma had gone to the washroom on the make-up room of the set in Naigaon - and did not return for a long time. When the door was broken down, she was found hanging inside. She was rushed to a local hospital, which pronounced her dead on admission.

“As of now, the investigation is underway. The mobile phones of the suspect (Sheezan’s) and the deceased (Tunisha’s) phones have been seized. There's no angle of any other affair, blackmailing or love jihad as of now…our investigations are underway,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Chandrakant Jadhav.

Sheezan has been named by Tunisha’s mother in the complaint.

Meanwhile, the Waliv police station has questioned several persons in connection with the suicide including the crew and cast of the programme.

Co-actor Parth Zutshi, who was questioned, said: “I was called for questioning by police and was asked general questions. I can't comment on her relations, I don't have any idea, it was her internal matter."
