Two central Delhi cyber cafes visited by Headley identified

The city police have intensified checkings at cyber cafes in central Delhi's Paharganj, which is continuing today also. Police described the searches as "routine" and not specifically for investigations into Headley case.

A senior police official said they have identified two cyber cafes visited by Headley during his three day stay in two hotels at Paharganj in March.

"We have passed on this information to National Investigation Agency (NIA)," the official said.

When pointed out reports that Delhi Police has been asked not to investigate the Headley case, he said, they were not investigating the case but described the searches in Paharganj locality as "routine".

"We check cyber cafes every week. If we get some information, we will pass on to NIA. The checks are routine," the official said.

Police had carried out searches in cyber cafes and hotels in Paharganj area on Sunday also.

Police on Sunday visited various hotels, cyber cafes and telephone booths in the area and is understood to have collected details about their customers during March one and 15 this year.

Headley visited Osho Ashram in Pune

Pune, Nov 17 (PTI): David Headley also visited the 'Osho Ashram' here twice during 2008-2009, a top police official said .

"Headley stayed in the city for a day in June 2008 and March 2009 and visited the Ashram, frequented by foreigners," Ravindra Sengaonkar, DCP, Crime, said.

According to Ashram officials, he visited the establishment at Koregaon Park for meditation, he said.

Headley, accused of masterminding terror attacks in India at the behest of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), is believed to have visited Pune on a business visa and left for Mumbai later, police sources said.

A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths which recently visited the city in connection with the probe has provided details of Headley's visit here, they added.

A spokesperson of Osho Ashram Amirti Sadhna said the Ashram was open to all and visited by thousands of people for meditation.

"It is possible that Headley may have come here. We are fully cooperating with police in the investigations," she said.
