Four techies from B'luru killed in mishap in Nagamangala

Four techies, including a woman, were killed in an early morning mishap, near B G Nagar, on Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway 75, in Nagamangala taluk, Mandya district, on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Namitha, Raghunath Bhajantri, Pankaj Sharma and Vamshi Krishna, all working for IT companies in Bengaluru.

It is said that the car they were travelling rammed into the stationed KSRTC bus, at around 7.45 am. The car was bound for Bengaluru from Channarayapatna side. All the four were killed on the spot. The locals helped to retrieve the bodies from the mangled remains. The bodies have been shifted to Adichunchanagir Institute of Medical Hospital.

Bellur police have registered a case.

The ritual of filling rice in the 'pattaya' container was held in Bhagandeshwara temple in Bhagamandala, ahead of Tula Sankramana.

Various religious rituals will be held in Bhagamandala starting from Wednesday.

Members of the Balladka family in Bhagamandala brought rice from the 'Ainmane' ancestral house and poured rice into a 'pattaya' container, thus officially marking the beginning of Kaveri fair.

Bhagandeshwara temple Takka Head Balladka Appaji initiated the rice ritual at the auspicious timing of 9.29 am in Tula lagna.

The 'Ajna Muhurtha' will be held on October 5 at 8.31 am.

Talakaveri Takka Kodi Motaiah, Bhagamandala temple Administrative Officer M G Chandrashekhar, Parupattedar Ponnanna and local residents were present.

7-year-old dies in road mishap in Karnataka's Tarikere

A boy died and 11 others were injured in a road mishap on the National Highway near Bettadahalli of Tarikere on Wednesday early morning.

The KSRTC bus which was bound to Shivamogga from Bengaluru, hit the divider, after the driver lost control over the vehicle.

Pramod (7), a native of Gubbi is the deceased. He breathed his last en route to a hospital in Shivamogga.

11 other passengers in the bus were injured and are availing treatment in government hospital, Tarikere.
