Immersed in 'Ram bhakti', Ayodhya all set for historic 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony

With all its streets and lanes decorated with flowers, walls with pictures of Lord Rama carrying bow and arrow and the couplets of Ram Charit Manas and the recital of the same through the loudspeakers from the shops, temples and homes, Ayodhya is al lset for the historic 'Pran Pratishtha' (consecration) ceremony on Monday in which around eight thousand people, including prime minister Narendra Modi and top personalities from the Bollywood, industry, saints and seers and others will be taking part.

The temple town of Ayodhya is all set to welcome Lord Ram with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to participate in the consecration ceremony at the newly constructed Ram Mandir on Monday.

The 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla -- the childhood form of Lord Ram -- will be attended by people from all walks of life, including representatives of major spiritual and religious sects of the country, representatives of various tribal communities and prominent personalities.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday said January 22 will be etched in history as a defining moment of 'tryst with divinity' in India's civilisational trajectory.

A spiritual leader carrying ‘kumkum’ from Maharashtra's Amravati district for the Ram temple consecration ceremony has reached Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, a local religious body representative said. A vehicle laden with 500 kg of ‘kumkum’ leaves from Amravati is also en route, he said. On January 18, local MP Navneet Rana attended the function to mark their departure. Spiritual leader Rajeshwar Mauli, who also left for Ayodhya the same day, has reached the holy city in Uttar Pradesh with a silver ‘kalash’ (urn) containing 'kumkum', said Jagdish Gupta, president of the Kesari Dharm Samaj in Amravati.

A large procession to mark the consecration ceremony of Ayodhya's Ram temple was taken out from north Kolkata on Monday.
