Two months ago on August 26, a seven-day-old child was found stuck on a tree In Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur after he was thrown off a bridge by his parents.

The child was found in a critical condition with almost 50 injuries along with an animal bite on his back, but has now recovered completely, an NDTV report stated.

The baby was initially taken to the Hamirpur district hospital, from where he was referred to the Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Kanpur.

Dr Sanjay Kala of the Kanpur hospital told the publication, "The baby was thrown off a bridge in Rath near Hamirpur and, fortunately, he got stuck on a large tree. He suffered several wounds because of the fall. It appears he was also bitten by some crows and an animal, because he had a severe wound on his back. He was referred to us with 50 wounds in a critical condition by the Hamirpur district hospital."

A nurse further mentioned that since the baby has too many wounds all over his body, which prevented them from picking him up.

When the child cried in pain, some of them would sing lullabies to him from a distance.

The nurse added, “His pain and crying would bring tears to our eyes, and some of us sing to him or gently blow on his wounds to make him feel better.”

Dr Kala said that after almost two months, the child, on October 24, had been handed over to members of the child welfare committee and the police.

The doctor also said that all the staff members of the hospital had become extremely attached to the child and all of them had teary eyes when he left.

The child was named Krishna by the hospital staff as he was found on Janmashtami.
