A 35-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh had hired a hitman to kill her 17-year-old daughter killed, only to get murdered herself in the hands of the same man.
The woman—who went by her first name Alka—was allegedly "fed up with the teen's behaviour" and hired one Subhash Singh to get her killed.
Little did she know that the 38-year-old hitman was the teenager's lover, as per a report in The Times of India.
The teen had reportedly once eloped from her home a few months back after which the mother had sent her to her maternal home in Farrukhabad.
There, she got in touch with Subhash and spent hours talking to him over the phone. As the two developed a relationship, her uncle started to notice the calls after which he called her mother and asked her to take the girl home.
Fuming with anger, Alka then decided to get her daughter killed. She got in touch with Subhash on September 27, completely unaware of his relationship with the teen and offered him Rs 50,000 to eliminate her daughter, TOI reported.
However, when he shared the mother's plan with the teen, the girl promised to get married to him if he killed the mother instead.
The matter came to light on October 6 when the mother's body was found in a field in Etah district.
Upon conducting the preliminary investigation, the police found out that the woman was a resident of Allahpur under Nayagaon police station in Etah.
Meanwhile, both Subhash and the teen have confessed to killing the woman.
