As the protests in Kolkata enters its fourth week, the West Bengal Junior Doctors Front has announced a telemedicine facility called the 'Abhaya (fearless) Clinic' to help patients as healthcare services have taken a hit in the state. The agitating junior doctors treated an estimated 500 patients through the telemedicine clinic. Meanwhile, BJP said that it will continue with its sit-in protest which started on August 29 at Kolkata's Esplanade. West Bengal reported three incidents of sexual violence, two of which involved minors. These incidents led to protests and even vandalism of houses and buildings in various parts of the state. A 12-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a laboratory technician at Howrah govt hospital. The laboratory assistant has been arrested and an investigation is underway. However, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of the CPI(M), demonstrated at the hospital, demanding the resignation of the hospital superintendent. Due to these incidents, members of the opposition have demanded Mamata's resignation. Several rallies are planned across Kolkata on Sunday, demanding justice for the young doctor. These include a ‘Maha Michhil’ (mega rally) consisting of people from different professions from College Square in central Kolkata to Esplanade. The ruling TMC and opposition BJP are also slated to hold street protests in the metropolis and across West Bengal during the day. Women members of the TMC will stage demonstrations at different blocks, demanding amendment in laws for capital punishment of rapists, while the BJP will continue its sit-in at Esplanade that started on August 29. The BJP had earlier demanded the CM's resignation.

A patient allegedly molested an on-duty nurse at a hospital in West Bengal. The accused, who was undergoing treatment at a health center in Birbhum district, allegedly touched the nurse's private parts while she was administering saline on Saturday night.

CMOH Dr Himadri Kumar Ari told ANI on Sunday, "This is an unfortunate incident, such incidents should not happen. The police have been informed about it and they have also arrested the culprit. We are doing everything to tighten the security. "

"Bengal is in the hands of goons and rapists and Mamata Banerjee is the root and the architect of this. Step Down, Mamata. She should resign. She is the main disease and virus in these types of incidents," he said.

Barasat SDPO Vidyagar Ajinkya Anant addresses the media regarding the child abuse incident in Madhyamgram

"There has been a child abuse incident in Madhyamgram. Madhyamgram police have arrested the main accused within 3 hours', SDPO Vidyagar Ajinkya Anant.
