West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, on Thursday, in a video message, while highlighting the need to free varsity campuses from corruption and violence, pledged to fight the battle till the end.
Bose spoke in Bengali, which he had officially begun learning at the beginning of the year.
Bose said that he has come to Bengal to do some "good work" for the state. The Governor said that the new generation is the state’s biggest asset, and said that the universities in the state need to be "free from violence and corruption".
Bose said that as a chancellor, he wants the universities to excel and be the best in the country.
The Governor also talked about the appointment of interim VCs for the universities. He pledged, and took oath – invoking Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Rabindranath Tagore, and Swami Vivekananda – to fight out the battle till the last.
