Since winter’s here, how can fatigue and sluggishness be far behind? Thanks to the chilly weather, winter tiredness is a common problem faced by many. Most of the times its manageable, but if your daily life is getting affected, here are five ways that will help you out:
Let the sunshine in
A lack of sun exposure can be the reason behind your tiredness. Sunlight is the source for Vitamin D, which is vital for our bone health and immune system. And, Vitamin D deficiency can bring down your energy levels, making you feel more drained than usual as the body starts producing more melatonin, the hormone responsible for making you sleepy.
Get enough sleep
Fight off winter tiredness with a good night’s sleep. Go to bed early, rather than sleeping in late.
Exercise regularly
After a long day at work, you may not be too thrilled with the idea of working out. However, daily exercises can certainly make you feel more energetic while helping you lose those extra pounds at the same time. According to experts, you should be getting at least 150 hours of moderate exercise in a week to function optimally.
Build healthy eating habits
Despite temptations, refrain from having junk food and spicy foods and instead, include green peas, carrots, capsicum, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach and lettuce in your diet.
Keep the celebrations in check
Winter is the season of festivities but constant celebrations can take a toll on your body. When it comes to drinking alcohol, don’t exceed a certain limit. It is also advisable to have two glasses of water after each portion of an alcoholic beverage to avoid dehydration.
