Who said smoothies are only for the summers? These highly nutritious drinks are perfect for the chilly season, too. These comforting concoctions are perfect for winter breakfasts. Along with fruits, incorporate lots of nuts to create a delicious and healthy smoothie.
Pina Colada Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients:
100 ml unsweetened coconut milk
50 gm soaked rolled oats
200 gm low-fat yoghurt
1 pineapple
For the toppings
Fresh strawberries, passion fruit, fresh kiwi, mango slices, banana slices, shredded coconut.
Method
Blend all the smoothie ingredients in a blender.
Place in a smoothie bowl.
Top with the toppings.
Serve chilled.
Peach, raspberry & nuts smoothie
Ingredients:
100 gm fresh raspberries
3 ripe banana small
50 gm soaked almonds
100 gm fresh peach slices
200 gm low-fat yoghurt
For the toppings
Fresh raspberry, peach fruit slices, soaked almonds.
Method:
Blend all the smoothie ingredients in a blender.
Place in a smoothie bowl.
Top with the toppings.
Serve chilled.
Watermelon & strawberry smoothie
Ingredients:
100 gm fresh strawberries
1 tablespoon honey
150 gm low-fat yoghurt
50 gm chopped watermelon
For the toppings
¼ cup of chia seeds
Method:
Blend all the smoothie ingredients in a blender.
Pour the blended smoothie into a glass.
Top with chia seeds.
Mix the chia seeds with the smoothie before consuming.
