Despite being available only on the iOS platform, the drop-in audio app Clubhouse has become a new sensation in the app ecosystem. It has already garnered a million users and just when it is planning to enter the Google Play store, Twitter, last weekend announced a soft launch of its own audio-only chat room Twitter Spaces.
The app market scenario is very competitive and it is a winner-take-all market for those who make the first move.
With Android having more than 80-percent market share, the delay in launching its app on the Google Play store by Clubhouse will cost the start-up dearly.
A new report has emerged that the Facebook-owned Instagram has already commenced testing its own Clubhouse alternative dubbed as the Audio Room, said Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a), renowned tipster.
He showed the screen-shot of the beta version on Twitter. Going by this, Instagram Audio Room seems to be in the early stage of development. But, time is running out for Clubhouse.
The drop-in audio app on iOS has gained a lot of interest as Elon Musk and other big company executives deliver speeches and hold discussions on Clubhouse.
Recently, Bill Gates in interaction with Andrew Ross Sorkin on Clubhouse invite-only app, said he prefers Android over iOS-powered iPhone. During the interview, the Clubhouse co-founder dropped into the conversation to reveal, the company plans to bring the app really soon to Google Play.
