Microsoft Office offers the best productivity tools to create documents and presentations. Most importantly, it has a user-friendly interface and is the primary reason why the office suite is utilized by billions of users around the world.

Now, the company is planning to bring another value-added feature that will further lessen the work while creating a document.

Microsoft is currently working on predictive text (feature-ID: 80179) and if things go as planned, it will be released to the public in March.

It will be similar to what Google offers 'Smart Compose' on Gmail. Based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, the Office Word document app will be able to complete a word and make sure the spelling of the words and sentence construction is grammatically correct. However, this will be limited to Windows PCs.

Besides Office 365, Outlook will also get predictive text. Once the users start writing on the document, the application will predict the words. Users just have to press the 'Tab' button to complete the word or press the 'Escape' button to reject the word and continue typing.

"Text Predictions in Word for Windows helps users write more efficiently by predicting text quickly, timely, and accurately," reads the message on the Microsoft 365 roadmap website.

We expect the predictive text feature for Microsoft 365 app on other platforms such as iOS and macOS, in the coming months.
