OnePlus, earlier in the week, launched the flagship OnePlus 7 series in Bengaluru on May 14 and the initial reactions from the tech critics and fans alike are overwhelming.
Now, arch-rival Xiaomi, which dented the OnePlus 6 series sale prospects with Poco F1 in 2018, is back with a cheeky teaser on Twitter hinting a new marquee phone is on way to take on OnePlus 7.
Xiaomi's Redmi India said --'Congratulations, OnePlus! We heard about your new flagship Regards Flagship Killer (855) 2.0 coming soon' and added 'Cometh the flagship, cometh the flagship Killer 2.0. Coming soon #Redmi'.
As we can see, Xiaomi is not bringing the Poco F1 successor, but instead, introduce new 'Redmi' branded phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core to go against OnePlus 7 and the 7 Pro.
Last week, Lu Weibing, general manager, Redmi announced that the company is bringing Redmi K20 soon and going by the aforementioned Tweet with red-hued characters- K, 2 and 0, it's obvious that Redmi India is indicating the same device and will hit Indian shores soon after the launch in China. Considering the fact that India being a strategically important market for Xiaomi, it may host simultaneous launch events.
