Bengaluru FC earned a hard fought 1-1 draw against Controllerate of Inspection Electronics (CIL) in an ill-tempered encounter in the BDFA Super Division League at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Monday.
BFC found themselves playing with a man less after referee Suman showed Malswmzuala a straight red for allegedly abusing him in the 73rd minute. Later, CIL were also reduced to 10 men after Sridhar was sent off for rough play in injury time.
Earlier, Edjique Lorng Riva Landry had opened the scoring for CIL in the 26th minute before BFC, fielding three players plying their trade in I-league, rallied to net the equaliser through Beikho K in the 82 minute.
BFC are now placed fifth on the points table with five points from four matches. CIL sit in fourth ahead of their opponents on superior goal difference.
Independents win
Meanwhile in the ‘A’ Division, Bangalore Independents recorded a 3-1 win over Jawahar Union.
Kiran netted the opener for Independents in 20th minute before Jawahar’s Akshay’s levelled the scores with a strike in the 37th minute.
In the second period, Independents again went ahead through Murali in the 51st minute. Karthick then sealed the game in their favour with a goal in the 69th minute.
