Bengaluru FC kicked off their pre-season preparations in fine fashion by registering a 5-2 over India Ur-19 at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Saturday.
With Indian national team coach Stephen Constantine watching closely from the stands, BFC skipper Sunil Chhetri opened the scoring but parity was soon restored as Daniel Lalhimpuia scored.
The Indian colts found themselves in an unlikely lead as Bidyananda scored via a freekick. His shot, from the edge of the box, was placed perfectly and found the top right corner giving the U-19’s a 2-1 lead at the break.
Later, Alwyn George, NS Manju, Robin Singh and an on-trial Ericson Lyngdoh got themselves on the scoresheet, giving the home side a comfortable victory in the end.
