There's a semifinal spot up for grabs as Afghanistan make a late dash in their bid to break into the top four on the Points Table as they take on third-placed Australia at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

A win for Australia guarantees their spot in the semifinals while Afghanistan will move up to fifth spot, leaving them in contention with one game left to play after this.

Not too much (worried about the toss). We would have had a bat but it is fine. Two changes.. Steve struggled in the warm-ups and he's going to miss out, Cam Green misses out as well, Maxwell and Marsh are in. Really happy with the way we have gone, five (wins) in a row, one of the most pleasing thing is we have played 14 guys so far and everyone has done well, long may that continue. It (weather conditons) is always a factor, it is a bit cooler than it was a month ago, we will be fine we have got plenty of bowling options.

Gurbaz was off to a solid start and Australia will be thrilled with that breakthrough.

An excellent batting performance from Afghanistan headlined by the 21-year-old Ibrahim Zadran who became the first Afghan batter to get a World Cup century!

Ibrahim (129* off 143 balls) laid the foundation with his impressive knock and Rashid Khan (35* off 18 balls) came on to provide a late burst to fire Afghanistan to their highest World Cup total.

It's not an easy pitch to bat on and Afghanistan will fancy their chances especially with the four excellent spinners they have in their attack.

Australia will need to get off to a steady start in the powerplay when the run chase gets underway in 20 mins.

Afghanistan's 21-year-old centurion says his chat with Sachin Tendulkar gave him a lot of energy and confidence for today! 

I am feeling great to score Afghanistan's maiden hundred in (World Cup). I worked really hard for this tournament, I missed a hundred against Pakistan but made it today. I was talking to my coaching staff and I told them I have a feeling I will get a hundred in next three matches. Wicket is looking good, ball is coming so well. If we had made good partnerships and kept wickets in hand, we would have scored 330 but we lost a few wickets and didn't get the kind of partnership (we were looking for) but Rashid played well in the end. We have plan for every opposition and it was our aim to put this score. We will try to bowl and field well. I had a good chat with Sachin Tendulkar; he shared his experience and I said before the match that I will bat like Sachin Tendulkar; he gave me a lot of energy and confidence.

Glenn Maxwell just played a knock for the ages to seal his spot in the history books and carry Australia across the finish line in spectacular fashion.

Maxwell finished unbeaten on 201* off just 128 balls as he carried Australia alongside his captain Pat Cummins (12* off 68 balls) who played a superb supporting role in their 202-run partnership.

Afghanistan got off to a dream start with their pacers as Naveen (2/47) and Azmatullah (2/52) struck in the powerplay to get rid of the top-order. Rashid (2/52) then did the damage post the powerplay to reduce Australia to 91/7 in the 19th over.

Maxwell and Cummins then joined forces to record Australia's highest 8th wicket ODI partnership to carry the team across the line.

Maxwell battled injury and could barely move his feet in the crease but smashed 21 fours and 10 sixes to finish with the highest individual score in ODIs for Australia.

Glenn Maxwell is the undeniable Player of the Match for his stunning knock of 201* and bowling figures of 1/58

It was hot while fielding today, I haven't done a lot of exercise in the heat, it got a hold on me today. I wanted to stay back and get some movement (on my legs). Not too much (when asked about plans at 91/7), just stick to the batting plans as much as possible, for me, still be positive, still look to play my shots, that LBW, it was going just above (the stumps), probably that made me be more proactive. A hint of swing and nip (off the surface), as it happens here under lights, they bowled beautifully to exploit that. It would have been nice if it was a chanceless knock, but I had my chances, to make the most of it tonight was something I can be proud of. Amazing, after the first two games, people were quick to write us off. The belief was always there (as a team), after today, it would have gone a bit higher.

Very disappointed. Cricket in a funny game, it was unbelievable for us. We were in the game, our bowlers started very well and dropped chances hurt us. After that, Maxwell doesn't stop, he played any kind of shot and I can give credit to him. I think the dropped catches were the key, after that Maxwell played really well. Our bowlers tried their best but he didn't give any chance to us. Proud of the team, but we will be disappointed tonight. We didn't think it would be this way, part of the game. This is cricket. We will try to come back strong against South Africa. He must be proud of himself, I am also proud that he is the first Afghan with a WC hundred.

Pat Cummins can't contain his excitement after what he's just been a part of

Ridiculous. Don't know how to describe it. Great win! It has got to be the greatest thing that has ever happened. One of those days people will say yeah, I was at the stadium for this game. He (Maxwell) was great, he was calm. He always had a plan. Even from 200 behind to be able to win the game that way, it was really special. (On whether Maxwell wanted to walk off) We had two NSW players lining up, Zampa was on and off three times, but Maxi wanted to stay out there. It is important to remember you can win from anywhere. Real belief in the team and we are in the semi-finals now, that's great. (On what they could do better) Don't think it is the time and the place, I'm going to pause that. I think the toss is a bit tricky out here, the first 20 overs are key. Obviously there are things we could have done better.
