Bangladesh meanwhile come to the Wankhede on the back of three defeats and will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat. They'll be hoping captain Shakib Al Hasan is fit to help them out today after missing the last game which they lost by 7 wickets to India.

Bangladesh need 383 runs to win! 

That was a punishing innings for Bangladesh, despite them getting off to a promising start. Hasan Mahmud (2/67) and Shoriful Islam (1/76) landed early blows in the powerplay to reduce Proteas to 36/2.

However, a 131-run partnership between Aiden Markram (60) and Quinton de Kock (174 off 140 balls) helped resurrect the innings. de Kock, playing his 150th ODI for South Africa then picked up the pace alongside Heinrich Klaasen who slammed 90 off just 46 balls.

David Miller also helped by slamming his foot on the peddle with an excellent 34* off just 15 balls as South Africa scored runs in a hurry at the end to post a formidable total.

Bangladesh will have to put up a near flawless display with the bat against a talented Proteas bowling attack if they hope to chase down this total. It's a good surface to bat on though and you can never count them out.

It was a really good wicket, came in with 5 overs, I had no choice but to go after it. The slower ball sticks into the surface, otherwise this is a typical Mumbai wicket. We've played with each other for some time now, we know the roles of batters at 5, 6 and 7. It's all about going out there and applying yourself to the task. We know what needs to be done. From my perspective, I think I'm maturing with age, the self belief is there and I'm going with the flow.

Quinton de Kock scored 174 off 140 balls, hitting seven 'sixes' and fifteen 'fours' against Bangladesh.

Heinrich Klaasen smashed eight 'sixes' en route to his 90 off just 49 balls against Bangladesh. 

David Miller scored a quick-fire 34* off just 15 balls against Bangladesh.

Aiden Markram contributed with 60 off 69 balls to provide a solid base against Bangladesh.

South Africa had Bangladesh on the mat at 5/58 in just the 15th over but managed to drag it out until the 47th over as Mahmdullah (111) grabbed his third World Cup century, albeit in a losing cause.

Gerald Coetzee (3/62) finished as the highest wicket-taker but the Proteas will want to put this game behind them and look ahead as they were frustrated by Bangladesh's resistance.

South Africa move up to second spot on the Points Table with a much superior net run rate of 2.370, far ahead of New Zealand who are just behind them with the second-best NRR of 1.481.

Bangladesh meanwhile move down to bottom spot on the points table after their fourth defeat on the trot.

Player of the Match, de Kock is more tired than satisfied after this game! 

I was a bit more tired than satisfied. Great day out, everyone played their part. Nice to get points on the board. [Change of WC fortunes?] Not too sure, first time inexperience... it's just happening, I guess. I was a bit nervous this morning, don't normally get nervous at all.
