Miffed with the practice pitch at the Ranagiri Stadium, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni walked out of a practice session after opener Dinesh Karthik hurt himself due to the uneven bounce.
But Indian complaints didn't cut much ice with Polonowita.
"I don't understand what kind of wickets they (India) want," he said.
"The other day, on a beauty of a wicket, they were bowled out for 88. Now, they don't want to play on the practice wickets," he was quoted as saying by 'Cricinfo'.
India were bowled out for 88 in the opening match of the ongoing tri-series by a relatively weaker New Zealand, which scored 288 on the same pitch despite missing top batsmen Brendon McCullum and Jesse Ryder.
The Indians will now take on Sri Lanka in their second match of the series.
