Both the teams arrived by a chartered flight at the Lokopriyo Gopinath International Airport where they were accorded a traditional welcome before being driven to their respective hotels amid tight security.

The Indian team was staying at the Hotel Landmark while the New Zealanders have been put up at Hotel Nakshatra.

Both the teams were scheduled to practise at the Nehru Stadium this afternoon, Assam Cricket Association Secretary Bikash Barua said.

The teams were scheduled to play the first of the five match series at Nehru Stadium on Sunday with the Indian squad being led by Gautam Gambhir after Mahendra Singh Dhoni was given a break.

The ODI Trophy would be unveiled at Hotel Landmark in the evening by the captains of both teams.

Meanwhile, massive security arrangements have been made in and around the Nehru Stadium to ensure that the match is held smoothly.

All tickets for the match have already been sold off, Barua said. The match is scheduled to start at 8:30 am on Sunday.

Match referee Roshan Mahanama, who arrived here yesterday, visited the stadium this morning and inspected the pitch, outfield and oversaw arranegements.
