While the test reports are expected only by late Wednesday or early Thursday, BWF COO Thomas Lund said the coach hasn’t had any fever.

“At this moment, he appears hale and hearty,” the COO added.

Dr Mahesh Joshi, who is attending to the patient, said the Malaysian’s condition remained stable. “He has been stable for the last 24 hours; he has neither had fever nor shown any other new symptoms.”

Asked if any other person in close contact with the coach had shown any symptoms of flu, Joshi clarified that no other person has exhibited fever. “I categorically declare that apart from the Malaysian coach, no other person, be it the players or team officials, has been even suspected of showing symptoms of acquiring H1N1 virus,” he stated.

Lund admitted that he had received many queries from anxious coaches and team officials about the threat perception (both from terrorists and swine flu), and that they have been satisfied with replies as regards the measures taken by the organisers.
