Om Prakash, Jaisha sparklePramila wins heptathlon gold

Haryana’s Om Prakash achieved a distance of 19.99 metres to show that he was in fine form ahead of the Commonwealth Games. Jaisha timed 10:03.05 to erase Sudha Singh’s mark of 10:08.56.

On the final day, Pramila Aiyappa won the heptathlon gold, Karnataka’s fourth here.  Karnataka finished fifth with four gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

Kerala retained the team championships with eight gold, seven silver and three bronze medals. Pankaj Dimri and Mandeep Kaur were adjudged best athletes.
