Ozone FC contiuned their winning ways with a 5-0 drubbing of Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) in their BDFA Super Division league tie at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Tuesday.
RWF defender Madan put Ozone in front with an own goal in the 11th minute and Shelton added another in the injury time of the first period as Ozone led 2-0 at the stroke of half-time.
Madan’s evening then went from bad to worse as he doubled his unwanted tally with another own goal in 64th minute.
Ozone weren’t done yet as they piled more misery on RWF with two more goals through Kapil (81st, 87th).
The Bert Zuurmen-coached side are fifth in the table with 14 points from eight matches. RWF, who have completed their league engagements, are placed eighth, with four points.
Now RWF must hope that Accountants General's Office Recreation Club suffer defeats against South United on Wednesday and MEG & Centre on March 18, to avoid relegation.
Meanwhile in the ‘A’ Division, Jawahar Union powered past Sports Authority of India 5-2. A brace each from Nihal (15th, 39th) and Philip (54th, 39th) and a goal from Akshya (55th) settled the tie in Jawahar’s favour. For SAI, Zaib (28th) and Dipmajumdar (50th) scored a goal each.
