Two goals either side of half-time helped South United to a 2-1 victory over ASC in their BDFA Super Division encounter here at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Tuesday.
After Subash opened the scoring for South United in the 28th minute, Murugappan doubled the advantage a minute into the second half. Deepak Panth got a consolation for ASC in second-half injury time.
ASC began the game on the front foot and wasted a barrage of chances before Subash headed home the opener against the run of play. ASC continued to create chances but could not convert them.
Murugappan ensured that ASC would repent all those missed chances when he extended the lead in the 46th minute.
The goal did little to dampen the spirits of ASC who kept on attacking South United and they finally got a goal back through Deepak but it was too little too late.
