Want to close your eyes and travel to another place within a blink of an eye? Human beings have long dreamt of teleportation, desired the power to travel within moments.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg thinks teleportation could become a possibility in future.
Interacting on the Clubhouse app under username 'Zuck23', he said 'we should be teleporting, not transporting’. He further revealed that the futuristic project is being developed at Facebook’s Reality Labs group and could soon become a reality, at least virtually.
He said that Facebook's Reality labs was working on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies to help people move around virtually.
He also informed about the Labs' progress in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology.
‘One of the things that [VR] will unlock is the ability to live anywhere you want and be present in another place and really feel like you are there,’ he said.
He went on to add, ‘It is going to unlock a lot of economic opportunities because people will be able to live where they want and increasingly work where they want and kind of teleport into place. I think the advance in electric cars in reducing emissions is great and exciting, but I tell my team that it is easier to move bits of atoms around so we should be teleporting, not driving.’
