Here's our initial impression of the new Redmi Note 10.

Design and display
Xiaomi's latest handset features a 6.43-inch full HD+ (1080 × 2400p) AMOLED screen, which is very rare for a budget phone. As of now, no one brand boasts this type of screen material.

The AMOLED is power-efficient compared to the LCD and also offers truer black colour and this can be known while viewing high-resolution video content.
Redmi Note 10 offers peak brightness up to 1100 nits, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.

On top, it is protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 shield and the device comes with an IP52 rating, meaning the device can sustain accidental water splashes and even moderate shower of rain.

It features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and on the back, Xiaomi has done a wonderful job with the smooth back-panel and uniquely different quad-camera module in the top-left corner.

Camera:
The Redmi Note 10 features a quad-camera module- main 48MP (1/2-inch Sony IMX582 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size) backed by an 8MP 118-degree ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth camera and a 2MP macro camera.

It takes pretty good photos in the afternoon sunlight. The pictures retain near-accurate details and even the macro and portrait images are also good.

On the front, it features a 13MP front snapper. It takes decent selfies.

But, we have to test the phone's other light condition to fully assess the Redmi Note 10's photography hardware and also check out numerous tools and filters of the camera app.

Processor configuration
Xiaomi's Redmi Noe 10 comes packed with 11nm class 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 octa-core CPU backed by Adreno 612 GPU, 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 64GB/128GB(UFS 2.2) storage (expandable up to 512GB via microSD).

It runs and using Android 11 with MIUI 12 out-of-the-box. It offers a lot of customisation options to enable users personalise the device and interface to match their style. Soon, the company plans to release the latest MIUI 12.5.

Also, it comes with a 5,000mAh battery, which is more than enough to keep the phone running for two days under normal usage.

In the limited time, I spent with the device, it has been very fast in responding in terms of app loading, launching, and using the camera hardware. We will be running the device through its paces in the coming days and get back to you with a detailed review.
