One person has been arrested and search is on for another in connection with the shooting at the Vancouver Island home of music producer A P Dhillon earlier this year.
While a warrant has been issued for 23-year-old Vikram Sharma,who the police believe currently lives in India, one Abjeet Kingra was arrested in Ontario on October 30. The 25-year-old has been changed with discharge of a firearm with intent and arson, Royal Canadian Mounted Police confirmed.
This comes after shots were fired outside his Canada residence in September, the responsibility of which was taken up by Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has taken responsibility for the incident.
The popular Punjabi singer has shared a message on his Instagram Stories after the incident assuring his fans that he was safe, and thanking them for reaching out.
"I'm safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out. Your support means everything. Peace and love to all," he wrote.
The incident came weeks after Dhillon featured with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the music video of his song Old Money. Shots were also fired outside Khan's Mumbai apartment in April and the actor has told police that he believes the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for the same.
