Almaty: Almost 114,000 people have been evacuated due to floods in Kazakhstan, the Central Asian nation's emergencies ministry said on Tuesday.

About 13,500 people have already returned to their homes, a ministry spokesman told a briefing.

But more water was expected to flow down the Ural River to the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions.
