June 20 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden has declared a major disaster over wildfires in southern New Mexico that have killed at least two people and burned some 500 homes, a White House official said on Thursday.
The declaration unlocks further federal support and Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance to the impacted communities, the official said.
