Nile TV anchorwoman Shahira Amin told the BBC: "We were not allowed to report on what was happening in Tahrir Square."

"I spent the whole day yesterday (Thursday) at Nile TV and we were just covering the pro-Mubarak rallies, which I thought was ridiculous. I don't want to be part of their propaganda machine. You know, when the system doesn't suit you just walk out."

There has been a political upheaval in Egypt to seek the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak who has been in power for the past 30 years. Anti-Mubarak protesters have congregated at Tahrir square in downtown Cairo and they have refused to budge despite attacks on them.
The protests entered the 11th day Friday.
