Bangkok: Thai media reported on Tuesday that influential former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was granted bail after he was indicted for allegedly insulting the monarchy.

Public broadcaster ThaiPBS and Channel 8 news reported a criminal court in Bangkok had accepted 500,000 baht ($13,600) bail from the billionaire. Thaksin denies any wrongdoing.
