People are also now sleeping in the streets near UNRWA shelters, with its 92 facilities “[exceeding] capacity” and “unable to accommodate new arrivals”, the UN said.

KEY POINTS FROM UN'S LATEST SITUATION REPORT

No words can do justice to thousands of UNRWA staff who continue to work tirelessly to support Palestinian communities in need in Gaza.

Two internally displaced persons (IDPs) were killed and 31 injured, including 15 children, due to collateral damage caused by a strike close to two UNRWA schools in the Middle area.

More than 100 Britons have been evacuated from Gaza and the government hopes more will be able to leave, Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden said on Sunday, as he urged the reopening of the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt.
The Rafah crossing was opened for limited evacuations for three days earlier this week under a Qatari-brokered deal aimed at letting some foreign passport holders, their dependents and some wounded Gazans out of the enclave.
"Over 100 UK nationals were able to cross out of Gaza into Egypt through the Rafah crossing. It is very disappointing that the crossing was closed yesterday," Dowden told the BBC.
