"I think we were both really aware, even in advance of that, this, this wasn't our day, this was the day that was planned for the world, said Markle, adding, "I will say I went into it naively because I didn't grow up knowing much about the royal family."

She also said that she and Harry wed 3 days before the official ceremony.

2. Meghan said she was silenced after joining the royal family. She also alleged that she was not being protected but people in the Royal institution were willing to lie to protect others in the family.

Meghan also said she was stunned when she was told he would not be a prince and would not receive security from the palace. Meghan added that it was not so much the royal family members themselves who treated her this way, but the people behind the institution.

3. Claim that she made Kate cry 'wasn't true', said Markle adding that it was Kate Middleton who made her cry. Adding to the allegation, she said that she was a victim of "real character assassination," and the incident was a "turning point" in her relations with the Royal family.

4. Meghan said that the British Royals refused to make her son a prince due to skin colour concerns. "They didn't want him to be a prince or princess, not knowing what the gender would be, which would be different from protocol, and that he wasn't going to receive security," Meghan said in the interview.

5. Meghan Markle said that she considered suicide while a British royal

She said that she was so unhappy in the British royal family that she considered suicide or self harm after asking for help but getting none. "I just didn't want to be alive any more. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought. And I remember how he (Harry) just cradled me," she added.

6. Prince Harry said his father, Prince Charles, stopped taking his calls

When asked why Charles had stopped taking his calls, Harry said, "By that point I took matters into my own hands, it was like, I needed to do this for my family. This is not a surprise to anybody. It's really sad that it's got to this point, but I've got to do something for my own mental health, my wife's and for Archie's as well."

"I feel really let down because he's been through something similar. He knows what the pain feels like," Harry said of his father. "I will always love him but there's a lot of hurt that's happened," he added.

"My family literally cut me off financially," Harry said. "But I've got what my mum left me and without that we would not have been able to do this."

7. Meghan and Harry revealed that their second child is a girl. Their first child, son Archie, turns 2 in May.

Harry said "to have a boy and then a girl, what more can you ask for? But now we've got our family. We've got the four of us and our two dogs."

8. When asked about one of the allegations that Meghan orchestrated their exit from the Royal Family, Meghan said, "Can you imagine how little sense that makes? I left everything for him (Prince Harry)."

"Our plan was to do this forever," she adds.

9. When Harry was asked if he would have stepped back from his life in the Royal Family if it were not for Meghan.

"The answer is no. I wouldn’t have been able to. I myself was trapped, I was trapped within the system", he added, "My father and my brother are trapped. They don’t get to leave, and I have huge compassion for that."

10. Prince Harry said that he and his wife Meghan Markle "did everything we could" to stay in the royal family.

"I'm sad that what's happened has happened, but I know, and I'm comfortable in knowing that we did everything that we could to make it work," he said.
