Manila: The Philippines on Tuesday summoned China's deputy chief of mission to Manila to protest the "aggressive actions" by China's coast guard and maritime militia against Manila's resupply mission for troops in the South China Sea.

"China's interference with the Philippines' routine and lawful activities in its own exclusive economic zone is unacceptable," the Philippine foreign ministry said in a statement.
