Moscow: Two people were injured on Wednesday in a car blast in northern Moscow, Russia's interior ministry said.
The ministry said that the blast was caused by the detonation of an unidentified object. A criminal case has been opened.
It gave no further details.
State news agency TASS said a Toyota Land Cruiser blew up shortly after a man and woman got into the vehicle. The man's feet were blown off, according to TASS. Five other cars were damaged in the blast, the agency said.
The Baza Telegram channel said that a car bomb tore through the Toyota Land Cruiser of an officer from Russia's GRU military intelligence agency.
Reuters was unable to independently verify the Baza report.
