<p class="rtejustify">The controversy over the Congress contestant from Madikeri constituency has been put at rest with the party nominating ZP member from Suntikoppa, K P Chandrakala, as its candidate.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">The battle among three candidates for ticket paved the way for Chandrakala, it is said.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">When the party announced the candidature of 2018 candidates, Advocate H S Chandramouli was declared as the candidate of Madikeri constituency. After the announcement, however, AICC spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa posted a remark on Chandramouli on social networking site, which changed the entire picture.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">In a development, KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar sought a clarification from the candidate after withholding the provision of B-form to Chandramouli, who went to Bengaluru on April 17 and tried to convince the KPCC Chief regarding his advocacy in the Mehul Choksi case.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">He had also written to the Congress state in-charge in this connection. However, the high-command was not convinced, feeling that the case would affect his performance and therefore has changed the candidate.</p>.<p class="CrossHead rtejustify"><strong>Nomination</strong></p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Chandrakala, the newly announced candidate is expected to submit her nomination on Monday or Tuesday.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Napanda Muttappa, who was also an aspirant, had warned of contesting as an independent candidate after the announcement of ticket to Chandramouli earlier.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">But as the Choksi case resurfaced, he retained some hope. As the B-form is now served to Chandrakala, Napanda Muttappa has now announced his independent candidature.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">A post against minister K J George published by Napanda Muttappa on a social networking site is said to have been the reason for the denial of ticket for Muttappa.</p>.<p class="bodytext rtejustify">Chandrakala had been trying for the ticket from the last six months.</p>
