<p> A day after the murder of an engineering student at Punjabi Bagh in west Delhi, police found a love angle in the crime and are questioning the victim’s girlfriend and her family members. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Dharmender, who hailed from Sikar in Rajasthan and was pursuing BTech from an engineering college in Jamshedpur, was found beaten to death around 7.30 am on Sunday at Swayam Siddha colony in west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh.<br /><br />Discovering his body in a pool of blood, a passerby informed police. <br /><br />Police found that Dharmender was lying dead with several fractures on his body and deep injury marks on his chin and right hand.<br /><br />Finding his mobile phone and wallet still with him, police ruled out the robbery angle in Dharmender’s death.<br /><br />During investigation, police found that Dharmender fell in love with a girl from Madipur after he came to Delhi in 2010, telling his parents that he was going to the Capital to prepare for FIITJEE.<br /><br />Fled home<br /><br />In July last year, both of them fled from their homes. The girl’s family did not lodge a complaint as she returned after a few days, police said.<br /><br />But Dharmender, who lived in rented accommodation near the girl’s house, never returned.<br /><br />He went to his home town and then told his parents that he had got selected in an engineering college at Jamshedpur. He was found dead near thegirl’s house on Sunday.<br /><br />“We are questioning the girl’s parents and trying to ascertain the cause behind the murder. We are also trying to ascertain when he came to Delhi again,” said a senior police officer.<br /><br />Police have collected Dharmender’s cellphone call details. Meanwhile, his body has <br />been handed over to his familyon Monday after a post-mortem.<br /><br />Hit on head<br /><br />In the preliminary autopsy report, it has been found that Dharmeder died after being beaten on the head with a heavy object.<br /></p>
