<p>The Goa government for now will not make it mandatory for inbound flight visitors to carry Covi-19 negative certificates, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Tuesday.</p>.<p>Speaking to reporters, Sawant also said that instead of making Covid-19 negative certificate or testing of inbound passengers mandatory at the Goa airport, the Goa government would instead beef up its testing apparatus, to keep a control of Covid-19 cases, which have crept up over the last few weeks.</p>.<p>"For now there is no decision to be taken (regarding testing on arrival), except that we will test at a bigger scale. We cannot close all economic activity once again. We have ramped up testing and am requesting all to maintain social distancing, use masks and I am in constant touch with the Health Minister," Sawant said.</p>.<p>Sawant's comment comes a day after Goa Health Minister Visjwajit Rane had sent a proposal to Sawant urging the latter to make testing of inbound air passengers from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Kerala mandatory, if they do not carry a Covid-19 negative certificate.</p>.<p>Sawant also expressed concern over the number of Covid-19 case tally hovering around the 100 cases a day mark.</p>
