<p>Mitel Networks Corporation, the $1.1-billion (2014 revenues) 44-year-old Nasdaq listed global market leader in enterprise and mobile communications, says the company will become double the size by 2018, backed by business verticals like cloud, contact centre, and mobility businesses.<br /><br /></p>.<p>“There are three pillars of growth for Mitel, namely cloud, contact centre and mobility verticals, where we have solid foundation. We have acquired companies in these segments so that we can consolidate our growth,” Mitel CEO Rich McBee told Deccan Herald.<br /><br />Mitel recently acquired Mavenir Systems for $560 million, which expanded its mobile capabilities. Mitel is taking on the challenges to capitalise on increasing demand for wireless 4G LTE services. <br /><br />The Mavenir acquisition will expand Mitel’s service provider and mobile operator footprint to over 130 service providers and mobile operators, covering two billion subscribers globally.<br /><br />Mitel is also building contact centre as a core offering along with cloud communications, voice and collaboration services. The contact centre call recording and quality management solutions enable data to be converted into actionable business intelligence that is increasingly a valuable asset for organisations of all sizes. <br /><br />“Contact centres quickly emerged as a strategic growth engine for Mitel with the prairieFyre and OAISYS acquisition,” he said.<br /><br />McBee said the company’s major revenue share comes from Europe and then from North America. “We are expecting the APAC region business will double soon. Mobile business is also is growing in North America,” he said. <br /><br />Mitel is active in Internet Protocol (IP) based communications solutions, as well. <br />“We also offers cloud-based telephony services and a wide range of network services in the United States market. MiCloud Enterprise Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) is focused on enabling business agility through a comprehensive communications suite that combines IP telephony, unified communications and collaboration into one managed service,” he said. <br /><br />When asked about the Indian market, McBee said it is a great market.
