<p>A man dared to warn a police sub-inspector over the phone regarding the investigation of a stalking case. The police have filed a case against the caller and are making efforts to apprehend him.</p>.<p>Manjunath H P, stationed at the Varthur police station, received the threatening call while he and his team were investigating a case filed by a 34-year-old woman living near 8th Mile on Tumakuru Road.</p>.<p>The woman had reserved room number 106 in DBR suites near Kodathi Gate on Sarjapur Main Road on the evening of June 14. She left the room and returned at midnight, only to discover a man sleeping under her bed. Frightened, she alerted the reception via phone, but received no response. In order to protect herself from the intruder, she hurried to the reception seeking assistance, only to find it unstaffed. Consequently, she contacted the police. It is possible that he intended to cause her harm or steal her belongings. We can ascertain his intentions only after capturing him," explained a police officer.</p>.<p>According to the woman's statement to the police, the stalker had malicious intentions, which is why he was hiding under the bed.</p>.<p>The Varthur police registered a case of stalking, trespassing, criminal intimidation, and an act intended to insult the modesty of a woman.</p>.<p>The woman had visited Sarjapur Road for work and booked a hotel room due to her delay. She informed the police that the stalker was dressed in white and cream attire.</p>.<p>On June 16, Manjunath received information that the suspect was near Varthur Government College. He and his team promptly arrived at the location around 7.45 pm.</p>.<p>At this point, Manjunath received a phone call from an individual introducing himself as Chetan from Mangaluru. This person proceeded to rebuke Manjunath for his handling of the case and had obtained information about Manjunath's batch and other details. The caller hurled abuses at Manjunath and issued a warning, stating, "I will show you who I am and what I can do to you." The police have since learned that the caller was a friend of the woman.</p>.<p>Manjunath has filed a complaint against the caller for obstructing him from performing his duties, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation.</p>.<p>"Our current focus is apprehending the stalker. We will take action against the caller afterward," stated a police officer.</p>
