<p>Two professors have been chosen for the prestigious ACCS-CDAC Foundation Award 2018 in recognition of their contribution to the fields of computing and communication sciences. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Vijay Kumar, from the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, and V Kamakoti, of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, will get the award at the Annual Conference on Advanced Computing and Communications at the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore on September 21. The award carries Rs 1 lakh in cash and a certificate. </p>.<p class="bodytext">Kumar has been awarded for his configuration of error-rectifying codes for wireless communication designing used in WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) cellular networks while Kamakoti will be honoured for his service in the field of VLSI (Very-Large-Scale Integration) designing and his contribution towards development and progress of the country’s first RISC-V (pronounced 'risk-five') processor in computer configuration sector. </p>
