In his statement before his death, Mohan told the magistrate that the girl’s brother-in-law Wahad, a constable, with the help of others set him ablaze at his residence in Kodungallur on Monday. He said that he had gone to Wahad’s residence to meet the girl where she had been confined. <br /><br />But police rejected his statement and said Mohan poured set himself ablaze when denied permission to meet the girl.</p>
