Karnataka State Police (KSP) eased past Students Union 3-0 in the BDFA Super Division League at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Friday.

The Cops, who thumped DYSS 7-1 in their previous game, continued from where they left off, netting all three goals in the first half and ensuring full points. KSP have seven points from three matches, while Students Union are precariously placed with a mere four points from six games.

The Policemen shot into lead in the fourth minute, thanks to a well-crafted move. Sampath Kumar gave a fine ball to captain Pradeep B V, whose cross from the right found Arun Kumar inside the area and the striker made no mistake.

Students Union’s first attack came in the 21st minute. Suhas’ shot was deflected across the goal mouth, but forward Phillip could not latch on to it.

KSP consolidated their position in the 29th minute. Arun sprinted across the left wing and his fine pass was slotted home by Vinod Kumar past Students Union custodian Thomas.
The game was over as a contest in the 34th minute with KSP adding their third goal. Vinod was in the thick of things again as he gave a diagonal ball to Karthik M, who beat Thomas with ease.

Students Union were unlucky not to pull at least one back. Phillip’s header from close range hit the cross bar in the 37th minute, while Jayavandhan’s thumping volley from outside the area came back off the woodwork in first-half stoppage time.
KSP took it easy in the second period even as Students Union muffed up the limited opportunities they created.

Meanwhile, Clivert (15th, 51st) and Anand (70th, 78th) scored a brace each as BUFC rallied to down ISRO 4-1 in the ‘A’ Division. Richardson had put ISRO ahead in the sixth minute.

Saturday’s matches: ‘A’ Division: AGORC vs CIL (1.00 pm). Super Division: KGF Academy vs MEG (3.00 pm)
