<p>Former India midfielder Noel Wilson joined South United Football Club as their mentor on Tuesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The 33-year-old was part of India’s 2002 World Cup qualifying matches. “I have been in Indian football for around 16 years and would like to contribute my experiences to the young talented kids who are the future of Indian football,” said Wilson.<br /><br />“I was invited for one of the matches in Bangalore and was impressed by the performance of South United with all young energetic players, and thought this would be the best platform for developing many young talented football players in India,” he added.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Lokknath R Char, CEO of Lokko Sports, felt Wilson’s arrival will the boost the yooungsters. “Noel is a stellar midfielder who has so much more to offer both on and off the pitch. <br /><br />“His achievements on the field and the way he carries himself off the field are a great example for our young players. We think bringing him on board as a mentor will help in guiding and preparing our youngsters for the bigger leagues.
