<p>In a first of its kind project in the State, the Mandya Zilla Panchayat has launched a mobile app for downloading property documents.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Running from pillar to post to get title deeds (hakku patra) and other documents related to properties will soon be a thing of the past with the app “M-Asthi.” <br /><br />The app, which can be operated on Android 3.0 or any higher-end cellphones, has been developed with the help of the Survey department.<br /><br />Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Rohini Sindhuri said that the users will have to register their names and mobile number with the app. “Along with that, the survey number, address and two photographs of the exterior and interior of the house and other details should be filled. As soon as you give all the details, you will receive information through SMS, which will give you the complete details on the status of your application. The forms will have the details informing the property tax paid, receipt number and the balance amount to be paid,” she said.<br /><br />As the photograph of the owner will be available with the photographs of the properties, the possibilities for misuse, by preparing fake documents, can be prevented, she added. <br /><br />With more than 3,000 applications pending for property documents, the system will be used to simplify the procedure and speed up disposal of applications, she said.<br />The respective panchayat development officer will provide necessary <br />information to the needy, Rohini added.<br /><br /></p>
