Actor Rajvardan Dingri is excited about his latest project ‘Ira’, which aims to be like nothing one has seen in Sandalwood. This young actor, who will be playing one of the lead roles in the movie, chats with Tini Sara Anien about his character and the upcoming project.

How did ‘Ira’ happen?

The script was narrated to me in October and I agreed almost instantly. I wanted to try something different and this seemed like the right project to associate with. While I play a role which is set in the 80s in my earlier project, this movie will be a pathbreaking project with the striking look I portray.

A bit about your role...

There is a lot of difference in the character that I play in ‘Ira’. In my last movie ‘Noorundu Nenappu’, I play a college boy who has a big attitude with a dominating personality and isn’t scared of anyone. In ‘Ira’ I play a character that has a lot of scope for performance. I will be seen as a rich guy who is a party freak. Neel, the role I play, will be a very stylish character.

What about the movie will make it stand out?

‘Ira’ is a suspense thriller and the movie is bound to entertain one and all. The movie has four main characters and they play the centrestage in the movie. Though there will be other characters, the limelight is taken by these main characters.

Your chemistry with other actors...

I play the lead role with three other actors — Vasishta Simha, Krishi Thapanda and Bollywood actor Atul Kulkarni. I have a great chemistry with Vasishta and Krishi, as we have been friends since a while now. It is fun to work with people one knows. I’m looking forward to the shoot.

What does ‘Ira’ mean?

‘Ira’ means goddess, which is Krishi’s role in the movie.

The project is ...

A delight to watch and talk about. The movie revolves around a night and incidents that happen on that night. The entire shoot schedule thus will be during the nights. The screenplay will be different and will raise curiosity among the audience.

Your father has been a part of the industry. Does that make you nervous?

My father has been helpful in my career, in terms of helping me prepare for roles and in dialogue delivery. But, it doesn’t make me nervous. I do not fear the camera. I am confident about what I am doing and my father has helped me in being what I am.

The homework for the movie includes...
While my hairstyle and wardrobe will go through a drastic change, I will also need to look leaner for the movie. I have been hitting the gym religiously and my diet is different now.

What’s next?
The dubbing of the other movies are happening and I want to concentrate on finishing these projects before anything else. There are talks going on about other projects too.
